Absolutely fantastic experience! The food was incredible – the BBQ ribs, in particular, are a must-try. Perfectly tender and flavorful! The service was just as impressive! Our waiter was wonderful—he gave us a warm welcome and provided a perfect introduction to the menu, making sure we had all the details we needed to choose the best dishes. This place is popular over the weekend, so I’d recommend booking a reservation to avoid waiting.

This place was delicious! Definitely work group friendly, but I made the mistake of ordering with my eyes and underestimating the portions of the food here. I definitely think that you can share the large platter of different meats with someone and then possibly getting fried chicken on the side if you’re going to share with someone else. The portions are pretty huge or you can safe the rest for leftovers. The drinks were pretty good. I had one that was a pear flavor 🍐 I will say the hush puppies and mac & cheese was different than what I’m used to having so not bad, just different .

We were looking for the best bites in Ann Arbor and a lot of fingers pointed in this direction. We were excited to give it a go and went Wednesday evening. The restaurant was slightly busy but nothing crazy. We got sat right upon arrival and explained all of the menus. The restaurant itself is a nice location with good parking. It has interesting curb appeal and fun quirky interior decorating. It’s very Ann Arbor. Again, the people were very prompt in seating us and they were also very friendly. Our server was slightly busy and received lots of help from food runners and bussers. The timing of some things were slightly odd — received appetizer before a coke, not a huge deal, just again, odd. We did end up getting sat and cashed out in under an hour which I really do appreciate. As the food goes, it was nothing spectacular. Almost felt like a tourist trap in a way. We’ve been flattered all week by fantastic food and this restaurant truly doesn’t stand up. The poutine was just fine. Fries, cheese, and gravy is hard to really mess up. We got what we paid for. As for the BBQ platter, the smoked beef and pork were carried heavily by their acidic and sweet sauces. The meat itself was harshly sawdust-ish and relied heavily on thick saucing. The collards were very bland and only seasoned with thyme and maybe a little squirt of vinegar. If you’re used to traditional full flavored soul food collards, these are a large disappointment. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and seasoned pretty well. And the ribs were actually pretty legit— good bark and big juicy meat. As for the mac and cheese dish pictured, it was better left in the garbage. The chicken inside tasted like McDonald’s mc chicken boiled for three days. And then they throw it in a flavorless, dry, and seperated cheese sauce. There was no satisfying bite of that slop plate. So for the food aspect, very disappointing. All of this said, we felt as though it was not worthy of complaining because we were not trying to be difficult and honestly didn’t want to wait for something else potentially disappointing. I do feel as though they would have accommodated our needs had we spoke our concerns. We will not be going back and really do not recommend either of the dishes we ordered.

I’ve been coming to Zingerman’s Roadhouse for over a decade. They pride themselves on great service and flavorful food! The dry aged steaks and burgers, mussels and nduja, and gelato are excellent. The half roasted chicken is a fabulous meal! Check out their specials as they’re usually really interesting and delicious. I have a soft spot for the Roadhouse burger. Pair it with fresh goat cheese and you’re in for a treat.

Today was a good day at the Roadhouse. We stopped in for lunch and sat by the warm fire. I had the Pit-Smoked BBQ Pork Sandwich, with sweet potato fries and slaw, very tender pork, crispy fries, tangy slaw and the BBQ sauce I chose had a nice kick. The misses had the Kale & Pinenut Salad with dried cherries and because you can add a protein for an additional charge, had the pulled pork added. We were both very happy with our meals. We've been here many times, it's not always 100% but they always care about you as a customer and will try to make things right - which is why we keep coming back.
