If I could give a zero star review of Mr Roof Grand Rapids, I would have. The experience with them has been difficult from the start. Started out in the middle of August when a salesman from Mr Roof Grand Rapids named Nick Gelock stopped by my girlfriends house where we live together selling Mr Roofs services as Shannon’s house did need a new roof and Shannon did get a deal done with Nick on this day and he got Shannon approved for $10,000 of the $13,150 needed to do the job with the balance of $3,150 due 60 days after the completion of the job which occurred on August 29th. Well, shortly after the roof was done, we called Mr Roof looking for an exact date of when the balance of $3,150 would be so. At this time, a man named Brian at the Mr Roof billing department in Ohio informed us that Mr Roof didn’t offer ANY type of payment plan!!! When we finally heard from the salesman Nick Gelock again after several unsuccessful attempts to get in contact with him, his story changed to having 45 days to pay the balance after the contract was signed!!! But, a rep from Mr Roof was supposed to come out and seal off something with the attic to help keep any critters from getting in…which did not happen for 6 weeks after the main part of the roof was done. So, Mr Roof was expecting payment for a job that wasn’t even done and even threatened to put a lien on the house and to send the situation to a collection agency!!! Well, just yesterday, the winds blew apart a part of the edge of the roof connected with the fascia of the edge. A Mr Roof worker James who is an inspector for Mr Roof Grand Rapids came out today and fixed the issue but noted that fascia boards were bad and allegedly NOT a part of the repair cause it wasn’t in the contract even though we were told ALL of the rotted boards would be replaced. James even claims that fascia board issues is fixed by siding companies even though fascia boards are an important part of roof repairs and are best fixed by roofers!!!
So, DO NOT deal with Mr Roof Grand Rapids for roof repairs!!! They’re not worth the headache!!!
Edited on January 27th to add further information…
Did go down to the Mr Roof branch in Comstock Park on October 31st, 2024 in order to get a sheet that the house insurance policy I have through State Farm needed to update my policy which was needed due to the roof repair. The man at the front desk was great and took the sheet that needed to be filled out and said to give about 10-15 minutes and they would have it ready. After that time had passed, a man named Zach Comer emerged from the back area of the building with the sheet in hand but he also took the time to print off my original Google review to discuss it with me. Zach wanted me to change my review cause it put the company in a bad light and for every 1 negative review they get, he said they need like 40-50 or more positive reviews to keep their ratings where they want it. Zach also wanted me to change my review so the company wouldn’t have a negative reputation. Zach even said that I could change my review to tell how much of a positive experience the visit on October 31st was. Other than the standard “we apologize” forced apology that ANY company gives when they know they’re in the wrong, NO offer to make the situation right was made!!! Pretty sad that Zach wanted me to change my review cause it was a negative one. Had the company not done what they did or had they at least honored what their salesman Nick promised or had something been done to rectify the issues, I would have left a good review but nothing has led me to want to change my review so I won’t be doing that even after Zach’s persuasion to do so.

Mr. Roof done an excellent job. Kyle is a out standing salesman and his boss James stayed the whole time when the crew were working and explained the steps they were doing. The workers are great people and professional . They cleaned up so nice. I highly recommend them.If you get your roof done.Tell them Randy Muniz recommended you.

Updated 4/3/24 (Long read)
(original review) The speed of the work was good. Their speed leaving was understood when I began looking at the roof. There is visible damage to the fascia and exposed wood. (All of this is clearly visible from the ground.) They also broke through the ceiling in my hallway. They offered to have someone come and quote it, but told me to "tape some cardboard over it for now" and left me to clean up the mess. During construction, my back flood light was broken. I was told "We don't fix those. We'll take $80 off your bill because we don't pay for anything super expensive either.". So they paid for a mid range flood light (that I need to go purchase) and told me to fix it myself.
I was referred to them from a coworker, but if this issue is not remedied, I would not think of referring them to anyone.
(Update: end of March) Chris was very quick to have me fill out the review so he could get his "incentive" for it.
Chris called me after I posted the original review to complain that he felt I "blasted" him. He tried telling me that my complaints were all cosmetic. They had a repair tech come out to fix most of the issues on my roof. I still have damaged facia, a GAP between the facia and drip edge and a corner of my roof that is moveable by hand (it isn't connected to anything). When having to replace J siding, because the original crew threw it out, Chris returned with a color about 5 shades too dark and when the repair tech pointed it out the response was "I'm not going to drive all over town to find the right color." They did have someone come out almost 2 weeks later to patch my ceiling.
I've reached out to their management team numerous times over the last 2 weeks, but they will not return my calls. Yesterday I was contacted to schedule having my gutters put on and when I told them the roof needed to be finished first, they promised that someone would call me first thing this morning.
(Final update) No one called me, so around 1:30 pm I just showed up to their office. I had someone out the next day to finish repairs. Their repair tech, Mike, was fantastic explaining how and why he was doing everything he was doing. It made me feel at ease since the primary crew didn't know what they were doing.
My gutters were put on today. I had one spot that was clearly discussed as the downspout going into the driveway, they angled to toward the foundation. The other spouts were jammed into the ground and not given any clearance. I will be fixing this myself because dealing with this company has been more of a stress than it's worth. I've actually developed an ulcer during this ordeal.
I chose this company because I was promised a high quality, 1 day install. I did not receive either of those (the quality is terrible and the roof took over 2 weeks to finish). As far as I'm concerned, they have violated their end of the contract. I'm at the point where I'm going to report them to the BBB and my home owners insurance for damages.
The reply to this review is the only apology I've gotten in regards to this fiasco. I've not been compensated for my time or the work I will have to put into repairing their mistakes, myself. Did they fix most of their mistakes? Yes. Did it require me hounding them on a regular basis to get it done? Yes. Did it take almost a month to finish a job they promised would take 1 day? Yes.
Would I refer them to anyone else? Absolutely not.
Save yourself the time and stress and look for a more professional office team (Ronnie was great with dealing with my concerns), and a more experienced crew.

Mr Roof, has been great to work with. We signed a contract just a couple weeks before the weather got crazy, but they were in contact anytime it looked like the weather was going to work out for us. It finally worked out this past week and the crew came in and got both the house and garage roofs replaced even though we thought we'd only have time to get the house done. They did both in one day!

My husband and I decided to go with the Grand Rapids Mr. Roof team after meeting with 3 other roofing companies. They were the only ones to really walk us through all of the products as well as the process. We were especially excited that they did gutters as well. Our sales person instantly sold us with his knowledge and comments about his reputable crew that would get the job done quickly, efficiently and respectfully. Mind you, our roof and gutters turned out great (1 star for that) but our yard was a disaster. Our garden beds both in the front and the back were trampled, our shrubs were broken in half, flowers snapped and ground cover unsalvageable. On top of it, there were beer cans in the dumpster. I called and complained about the state of the yard. Our sales man apologized and said they would be informing their supervisor and they would get back to me. This was over the 4th of July so I understood it would take a few days for them to get back to me. After many calls, texts and emails to the company, I did not get a response until July 13th. I explained the damages and was very upset that the crew thought it would be ok to drink on the job while climbing all over our roof. I even brought up the fact that our salesman made the point that he has passed by jobsites done by other companies where the crew is drinking on the job and that you would NEVER find Mr. Roofs crews doing that. The woman I finally got ahold of said that "maybe the cans came from their vehicles". Regardless, empty beer cans should never be on a customers property by the crew. That is unsafe and very disrespectful. I had my security camera rolling in my front yard while they were installing and saw that they put a tarp over the garden beds but let the old roof material pile up directly on top. I informed the company that the least they could do was pay me $1000 for repairs. I am not sure if any of these beds are salvageable at this point. They said that they have never paid $1000 for damages and the best they could do is $300. They said a check should be received no later than August 8th. I have called 2 times already, no response, no check. It is August 16th. What a scam. Do not go with Mr. Roof in Grand Rapids, MI.
