This is the best barbecue restaurant that I have ever been to. I find it hard to eat brisket because I don’t like fatty meat. They have a lean portion. This is the only place where I’ve ever seen a lien portion. I waited to do this review because I wanted to see if my opinion was gonna change I absolutely love this place. Top down atmosphere service and food were all top-notch price was very reasonable. Quality was beyond imagine. I want to give a shout out to Olivia and Brett they were great advocates and stewards of this restaurant. I had a lot of annoying questions and I know I usually do, but they were very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant the atmosphere of the restaurant in extremely knowledgeable about the suggestions that they were making. We got the meat platter with the addition of a second helping of brisket. The coleslaw and mac & cheese was great. We also got the fries, covered in gravy with pulled pork, bacon and cheese. The atmosphere is A combination of hard rock in Star Wars litter, the walls and the ceilings of this little restaurant. It’s absolutely an amazing intricate atmosphere with little things hidden all over the place. we went back twice to see if the experience was the same. The second time was even as good as the first. I started talking about this place to people at work. It is a well-known restaurant in old town. Lansing Guy Fieri even spent a little bit of time there. and has recognized this restaurant. I don’t give five star ratings very often but I will give a five star rating to this wonderful place.

Heard about this on a Facebook group, and sure glad I did. It's in a neat little art district, that we didn't even know about. We split the smoked wing plate and added a side (mashed taters, Mac n cheese, and baked beans). Wings were very good, house sauces were nice as were the mashed potatoes, but the Mac and cheese and beans were outstanding. They have a bunch of house sandwiches that we want to go back to try. Will definitely visit again next time we head up to State.

The food was fantastic, although they were out of chicken, ribs, sausage and bbq pit beans, which was disappointing.
The service was awesome! The atmosphere was cool, laid back. I like the decorations.
Great job! 4.5, will return.

Meat BBQ in Old Town Lansing is fantastic! The brisket is tender and flavorful, and the pickle fries are a crispy, tangy treat. Great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere—highly recommend!

The food is very good here! We love the black magic bbq sauce. We ordered two of the meat platters- one brisket and one chicken and they came with good sized portions. We also ordered kids meals which were huge pulled pork sandwiches with fries and a drink. Definitely worth the money. The nacho appetizer we ordered was good, but I think the price was a bit much for the amount we received. Overall, very good food. Side note, Looking over the receipt, I did notice we were charged for the kids drinks, but after pointing that out to the waiter, he fixed the receipt to reflect that the drinks were included in the kids meals.
