Like breakfast joints? Then this is your place. Restaurant is straight out of a 1950’s diner in a movie scene. Definitely in contrast to Ann Arbor’s trendy breakfast places. Nothing fancy here, just good old American fare. Food is good, portions are generous. Not the cleanest restaurant I’ve been in. Service was attentive. I will eat here again.

My family and I went to Franks for breakfast. The service was great, very friendly and able to answer questions regarding the menu. The restaurant itself seemed very dirty- the ceiling tiles, posters falling off of the walls, stains, etc. After deciding what to order, we were told by the waitress that they were out of sourdough bread, spinach, and a third vegetable I can't quite remember. I ended up getting an omlette, which was very large (as big as my plate) and delicious (I had plenty of leftovers for later that day). Overall, the food quality was great and exceeded my expectations, but the cleanliness of the restaurant would keep me from returning.

I feel so fortunate to live, quite literally, next door to this Ann Arbor institution. They have excellent breakfast dishes, and if you see the Philly Cheesesteak on the lunch, you'd be greatly remiss not to order it. I've found their portions are very generous and the service incredibly efficient and polite. My secret tip? The delicious Greek lemon egg drop soup that is sometimes in the menu. And so. Very. Delicious.

I've wanted to try Franks for a while now. I door dashed the Franks famous French Toast, Western Omelet with cheese and a side of hash browns. The Omelet was perfect. It had lots of fillings, very cheesey, and a great sized portion. The hash browns were uninspiring unfortunately. I wished they were a little crispier and they need more salt. Now, the French Toast was the star of the show. Crispy exterior with a light doughy center, it was cooked perfectly. It's easily the best french toast I've had in Ann Abor. It's definitely worth going back.

Beautiful diner with a great staff. Glad to see some hard working people making some great food for a good value. Omelet was amazing and my wife and son loved the Philly
