I drive all over the country for a living, Pho is without a doubt my favorite dish to find and eat in every city I visit. A month ago I found to my shock the best I have ever had in an arcade in Milwaukee. This was as far from that as it could be. Thankfully I brought it home and was able to enhance the flavor with some bullion and some Chinese 5 spice. Certainly on the lower end of the spectrum.

The best, most authentic Vietnamese pho place in the town. Their BunBoHue is really good. I did not really liked their noodle(bun), but the broth had good enough spiciness and nicely balanced layers of different flavors. Their pho was also very authentic. The prices are also quite reasonable, considering the crazy inflation nowadays. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking for an authentic Vietnamese joint.

We had the #2 appetizers, which were very fresh and delicious. I had the #14 Pho, which had chicken, shrimp, crab, and squid. The broth was amazing. All the ingredients tasted very fresh. We also split #25 Xao Ca Ri, and it was also very good. Everything was seasoned just right. Go at lunchtime as they do have specials. Location was easy to find, and the atmosphere was very inviting.

I've worked in a small business setting before, so I don’t take writing a negative review lightly—I know firsthand how challenging it can be to keep a business running and maintain good customer relationships. However, my experience was so shockingly unprofessional and outright hostile that I feel compelled to share it, not out of spite, but as a clear example of how a business should not treat its customers. I've supported Dalat for years, frequently ordering pho (and other dishes), and even recommending it to friends. After receiving only one piece of tofu in my last order and assuming it was an honest mistake, I called after placing my most recent order to ensure I’d receive the standard portion. What followed was bafflingly rude. The employee, curt and uninterested, relayed my request to the manager. Instead of addressing a simple concern, he abruptly cancelled my order while I was still talking with the employee—after I had already driven all the way there and arrived to pick it up. When I asked why, he dismissively said it was "not his problem" and that they "hate customers like you on DoorDash." (For reference, DoorDash is the only method they allow for takeout orders.) As I tried to clarify, he began yelling about being "too busy for this" and insisting I take it up with DoorDash—even though this was not a DoorDash issue, but a mistake by the restaurant itself. All he had to say was "I'm sorry about last time; we'll make sure it's right this time." Unfortunately, my experience isn’t unique. Looking at their responses to other negative reviews, it's clear they resort to name-calling, threatening to publicize payment details, and becoming defensive rather than handling concerns professionally. A restaurant that treats feedback as a personal attack and responds with aggression instead of accountability is not one that deserves anyone's business, let alone loyalty. So no, please don’t thank me for not coming back, as you have with others. Instead, ask yourself why so many customers leave with the same complaints. When people repeatedly walk away feeling disrespected, the problem isn’t them—it’s you. I hope you take a moment for self-reflection and develop the self-awareness to choose a more compassionate path moving forward. And if empathy isn’t your strong suit, try a simple apology next time—it costs nothing and goes much further than hostility.

Dalat Vietnamese Restaurant is worth a visit. I have been here twice. Each time I order the Phở tái nạm (Beef Noodles Soup). So delicious. Bean sprouts, lime, basil leaves and jalapeños served on a side plate to use as desired. Pho tai nam is a traditional Vietnamese beef-base rice noodles soup with medium well-done sliced beef, beef brisket topped with onions & cilantro. They have many other dishes besides the noodle soups. For lunch there are different specials as well such as Benito boxes. They offer sit down service or pick up. The staff waits on you quickly. If you pay with credit card there is a extra charge. When paying in cash they will discount the bill given to you. 4-23-2024 Stopped by again and decided to try something new. Bánh xèo. It is a piece of pan-fried golden crispy crêpe filled with shrimp & chicken (or pork), mushrooms, beansprouts and onions. On the side they give you a sweet and sour sauce to use with it. I never had this before but I am wondering if mine was over cooked. It was very crispy and brown not golden. On the internet when you look up this dish it looks yellow almost resembling an egg omelet in appearance. It seemed like a very greasy dish. I also got the Spring rolls. My mistake to order to fried dishes together. Way to much oil. I won't try this again. The Pho is way too good to get this dish. I will try to included photos.
