I stayed here one night and I really enjoyed this place. It's an old building with a ton of character. The dining room and main area has a nice little area for making coffee, tea, etc. The stairway leading up to the rooms has really cool red carpeting with a big stained glass window. I stayed in the Holmes Room, and I was very pleased. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and shower were great (strong water pressure in the shower). I would definitely plan to stay here again if I'm ever back in the area.

Chelsea House is a beautiful and well-maintained historical property with modern touches. It's half a block off Main Street so everything is super walkable. They have thoughtful amenities including toiletries, games, books, snacks, a guest mini fridge, and spirits from the local distillery Ugly Dog that you can sample while relaxing on the porch or in the gazebo. In June you can watch the fireflies dance in the yard and visit with neighbors passing by.
I stayed in the Holmes room which was cute and had a newly renovated bathroom with a walk in shower. The beds and pillows are super comfy and the sheets are the softest I've ever felt!
Keep in mind that older buildings are creaky and not sound-proof; if there are other guests present you will hear some noise. I stayed mid-week so it was fairly quiet. With the proximity to Main Street there is some traffic noise between 7 am and 10 pm. Beware there are train tracks a block away and the train blows its horn coming through town, there were two each night. If you are a light sleeper, ear plugs should take care of this.
Carla was wonderful! I highly recommend Chelsea House and plan to stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Very nice and old hotel. Traveled across the states and stayed at this hotel for one night, it was cozy. The children liked it very much.
