I had an incredible experience visiting Barrio. Nice sunny day, so I headed straight to the bar and Kenzi took care of me from there. She mixed me up an amazing margarita, the hit you fast slash knock you down type, and I went with the street tacos. Kenzi and my server Dylan were both amazing, and the tacos were off the chart delicious! I had barbacoa, carne asada, and carnita. I asked Kenzi who made these mouth watering morsels of Mexican heaven, and she said, "Marshall, he's him." The tacos were so good they made me make the exact same face as the kid on the tv holding the spoon (see pics). I walked back to the kitchen to let Marshall know his level of making excellent food is unmatched, and when I thanked him he walked out and said, "No problem, I do this.", and calmly walked off back to the kitchen. Great vibes, vibrant decor, flawless service, and the most authentic Mexican food around to be found. Oh, and the bartenders are some baddies too btw.. so I'd add an extra star just for that if I could. 😁 6 stars out of 5!

We LOVE Barrio.
I'll always suggest trying to limited time offerings because they're great but also the avocado tacos and the street corn are a safe bet.
I had the Oaxacan Hot Chicken Tacos and they were SCRUMPTIOUS. Service is always great and so is the food.

Location:
We ate at Barrio Cocina y Tequileria yesterday, and it’s such a cute spot in downtown Plymouth. Parking was easy with plenty of street options, and the restaurant wasn’t crowded, which made for a relaxing experience.
Food:
We kicked things off with the triple dip appetizer, and everything tasted super fresh—I especially loved the queso! For drinks, I tried the appleciderita, a seasonal special. It was really sweet, but I think a touch of ginger or cinnamon could’ve taken it to the next level. I ended up liking the raspberry mojito (not pictured) more—it was delicious and super refreshing.
For my main, I went with the Birria Quesadilla. It was solid, with four generous pieces served alongside guacamole and sour cream. The only downside was the sauce it came with—it was way too salty. Also, heads up, the salsa is an extra charge. Since the quesadilla doesn’t include sides, I added rice and elote. The rice was a letdown—some of it was undercooked and bland, though adding salsa helped. The elote was even more disappointing—no real flavor, no cotija cheese, and it taste like it was made from canned corn.
Service & Ambience:
Our waitress was super sweet and quick, which was a plus! The ambience really stood out too—cozy, vibrant, and perfect for a night out.
Overall, Barrio has a great vibe and some good options, but the sides definitely need work. Still, it’s worth checking out for the atmosphere and a fun drink!

Got here past 10 on a Saturday night. I was offered a seat at the bar (which had plenty of open chairs) or a table. I chose a booth and was seated right away. Not having a lot of time i orders a streak fajita platter. It came with rice, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, cheese, grilled jalapeno, pico de gallo, and 6 small tortillas (choice of corn/wheat/3 of each). I asked for wheat tortillas and no sour cream or cheese. I barely got back from the restroom and my food had arrived. It was sizzling hot and smelled delicious! The quantity was enough that I could have taken some home but I was really hungry. It took me some time to finish it all. I left two of the tortillas and some of the pico de gallo. I'm a big guy and I was more than full.
Service was fast and friendly. I think my waitress could tell that I was hungry so she mostly left me alone other than checking on me a couple of times quickly to make sure I didn't need anything else. I manage to finish before closing time. I hate to keep people waiting.
The restaurant is located in a "yuppie" (I don't mean that in a derigirotary way) shopping area where there are many other eateries like it. That's a lot of seating - an upper level as well. Nearly all the tables and booths were full even at that late hour. There are two TVs at the bar showing a football game. Places large enough that it doesn't really get very loud - at least it wasn't loud when I visited.
The food was almost five stars but I couldn't give it five stars because I've tasted better Mexican food at similar establishments. If I could give it four and a half stars I would.
They have a pretty expansive drinks menu. Unfortunately I could not try anything because I was driving long distance.
If you like Mexican food then I don't think you'll be disappointed with this place. Prices are pretty reasonable too.

Super basic food taste for a pretty expensive price. Presentation of good but the orange rice and corn tortillas were not edible. We left it. Everything else was ok, nothing I would consider amazing or worthy of such good reviews. Service was also poor. I think the waitress came over a total of 3 times once to take our drink order, then food order, then check. Nothing else. Very underwhelming for all the amazing reviews. Only thing good here was the guac and the cheese on the fajitas. That’s it.
