I really wanted to like the meal that I had at Bangkok 96. Having traveled to Thailand and Laos many times, I found their menu had items I had previously eaten overseas. My favorite dish, ban kaprao mu, is extremely hard to find here in Michigan. When I saw that Bangkok 96 offered a dish with a similar name and Thai basil, I couldn't resist. However, what I received was just not very good. The menu item states there is green pepper in the dish, and honestly that was spot on. There could have been two or three sliced peppers and very little pork. There was no Thai basil anywhere in the dish that I could recognize. The sauce was bland. There were no Thai chilies, the very backbone of Thai cooking in the dish. No garlic, no onion, I couldn't taste ginger at all. Literally I think I had a pork green pepper soup. I don't think I'll be going back. I really wanted to like this place, but I cannot recommend it for traditional Thai food.

Really good food with good quantity and quality. The service is pretty quick here as well.

Recently returned from Bangkok and was looking forward to some good Pad Thai and this place did not disappoint! However the spring rolls for $1 each aren't so great as they are almost empty. Would love to have had some mango rice too, maybe next time

First time here.
I got the N2 and my husband got the N1.
N2 was pretty good and I liked it. N1 was a bit more towards the sweet taste and I’m not a fan of it but that’s just my preference.
The hot and sour soup was meh, I could feel the vinegar but there was something else in it that was kind of strong.
The fresh rolls with chicken was good but I wish there was a better sauce for it because the sauce that was given was sweet.

I have enjoyed the great food at this place for over a dozen years. Last night I ordered my "Go To" Pad Normai. This time there were too many overly crunch large carrot slices and not enough mushrooms. But the quality of the food is always great. Next time I will ask for more mushroom and less carrots. Hope they chop the carrot smaller next time as they always have in the past.
