On our way back from up north, we decided to stop and have lunch at Whitey's on M15 in Davison. Have never been there, but heard the food was very good and the decor was interesting. And at one time it was a dairy farm with the blueprints on the wall.
We were greeted immediately as we entered and were seated directly . The decor was very interesting from figureheads from the ships bow and a steering wheel from a ship to etched scenes on glass to stools that had actual legs for legs.😂
Our server Ashley was outstanding! She did not rush us to order and she said several times "take your time". My wife asked her if there is something she might suggest and she replied "Great Lakes Catch" which came with soup and salad bar.
If you enjoy fish the "Great Lakes Catch" is the one to get. A combination of fresh water favorites: tender yellow lake perch fillets, sweet bluegill fillets, and Canadian walleye, lightly pan-fried.
My wife got the Great Lakes Catch🐟which came with soup and salad bar and a side which she picked the Sweet Potato Casserole and I got soup 🍲 and 🥗 salad bar. The meal also came with a freshly baked loaf of bread.
I must say that the New England Clam Chowder 😋 was one of the best I have had. Very creamy with potatoes, corn, onion, bacon and of course clams.
The salad bar was loaded with a variety of items from pasta to a full assortment of veggies and condiments.
There was so much fish, my wife was able to share a small piece of each fish, plus some of the Sweet Potato Casserole.
Again, Ashley was so accommodating and helpful, which we really appreciated.
Whitey's is definitely a come back again for us and will hopefully have Ashley as our server.
There is also a bar and a separate building for take out service. Take out hours are as follows:

Best Bluegill I have ever had in my life!! The salad bar is phenomenal too!! Super friendly and professional service and it is very cool looking inside! This place rocks!!!

A friend told me about the fish at Whitey's, so we decided to make the drive and give it a try. We were surprised to see a large salad bar (haven't seen a salad bar in years in a restaurant), so that was a nice surprise (although we can't eat that much so only sampled the salad bar). The fish was worth the trip, the cod was so flaky, delicious and you can choose how you want it prepared. The service was great, the bread also delicious - we really enjoyed our dinners. The restaurant is a tad dated, but it's part of the charm of the experience. Just disappointed it's a bit of a drive for us, but we plan on returning.

We have been to Whitey's man times over the years and usually look forward to a trip back there. Whitey's has a very nice salad bar, their seafood choices are usually above average ,and the service is generally OK. On our recent visit our waitress was (Jul18) ,either Julia or Julie , and was absolutely the worst waitress we've had there , the dinners came cold , she didn't know how to clear dishes , fill glasses ,ect.... our visit was also invaded by a few house flies the entire time, which has occurred before. I looked for a manager on the way out to voice some concerns, but like typically, I have never noticed a managers presence on the floor. This has been and can be a great seafood restaurant again, but the management here has got a lot of tightening up to do to bring Whiteys back to the level that would of made the Hilgendorfs proud of it.

We stopped in with our big truck and camper on our way from up north. We pulled through but the parking lot was pretty full so we pulled out of the back of the parking lot and we were going to go somewhere else but a man (I think it may have been the manager) noticed us and came out and waved us back into the parking lot and pulled us right up to a spot. We were very impressed and happy because I really wanted Whitey's. I highly recommend this place and enjoy our meal every time we go. The salad bar is really good as well as The meals we have gotten. Thank you for your great service Whitey's!!!!
