I’ve been going to crunch since opening day, and don’t plan on going elsewhere. It’s the gym I recommend to anyone who’s working out at a PF, or looking for more variety in their training. I’ve always liked that they not only have all the free weights, and machines you need, but they also places for cardio, HIIT and stretching. My biggest complaint is machine maintenance, and crowding (which I believe will be resolved with their new expansion). Although most of the machines work consistently, there are always a couple broken cables. I do blame the users rather than the gym, but with cables being the most versatile equipment in the gym, it’s annoying when I have to check if the open cable is actually working; stuck in place, stuck at a weight or doesn’t move smoothly. I understand maintaining equipment with as many members as they have is difficult, but it would be nice to have things fixed in a timely manner. And to touch on crowding: I’m someone who wants to do my workout and leave. I have found if you go during the day, or in the evening you can just about count on having to wait for the machine, bench, squat rack, weight, or space to workout. Because of this I go either early in the morning or late at night. As I had said previously, I do believe that their expansion will help a lot with the crowding and I look forward to its opening. Lastly the staff: In my time there I have seen many employees and trainers come and go. I have never had any issues with their staffing and I believe they all do a great job. P.s. shout out to the good lighting and the gym buddies I’ve made there!

I joined Crunch Fitness under the Peak Results plan because it was advertised as “Month-to-Month No Commitment.” Unfortunately, after signing up, I discovered hidden terms that contradicted this claim. For example, I was charged an annual fee that I couldn’t avoid even if I canceled before the first 12 months were up. This was never clearly stated on the sign-up page, and the fine print was buried in the membership agreement, which only appeared after I had provided my payment information. When I tried to cancel, I encountered significant challenges. Crunch Fitness has made the cancellation process unnecessarily difficult, and based on other reviews here, I’m not the only one with this experience. Additionally, the advertised “free month” is misleading because it seems tied to terms that lock you into payments you can’t easily get out of. It’s incredibly frustrating that a gym advertising “no commitment” actually enforces terms that make cancellation feel like a commitment. While the gym facilities might be fine for some, the lack of transparency and honesty in their advertising is a major red flag. I encourage anyone considering Crunch Fitness to read all the fine print carefully and be fully aware of the hidden fees and challenges you may face.

It is impossible to cancel your membership. I'm convinced this is just a massive scam lol I highly recommend not committing to this gym. I thought I had cancelled my account, but was still being charged each month. My profile on the website shows my status as "inactive". Yet, I was still being billed $18 each month. I had reached out over the phone on October 1st at 6:56pm to inquire about canceling my membership, and explained I was confused by the "inactive" status and still being billed. The person I spoke to told me to email info@cruncheastlansing.com so I could email with a manager about my cancellation. I emailed on October 1st, and when I did not receive a response, I emailed again on October 6th. No response to either of the emails. On November 1st, I was billed again. So, I called again. The manager told me that they do not have access to that email address, even though it was the email address their staff member gave me. Looking it up now, I can't even find this email on their website. I was told that in order to cancel over email, I need to provide proof that I moved 25+ miles away from the gym. Otherwise, I would need to come in person to cancel (which, based on what I've heard from others, doesn't matter because no matter when I show up a manager will just so happen not to be available). I was also told that they don't have access to that email (again, the email that was given to me by their staff member). I expressed my frustration to the manager about this, because I was told to email that email address. Had I known I had to go in to cancel, I would have went in on October 2nd. I stated that in addition to cancelling, I would like to be refunded the $18 they pulled out of my account for November. The manager told me that because they did not have documentation of my emails (the email their team member gave me), that I would not receive that $18 back. The manager told me that she "couldn't vouch for what other people (who she manages) said." This whole process is beyond frustrating and ridiculous. This is just a massive money grab to them. TLDR: Save yourself the headache and the money and go literally anywhere else.

The employees are scammers and will purposely leave out information to take your money. I called to cancel my membership a month ago and they told me it can’t be done over the phone. I go in person last week they tell me there’s no manager there. I go and finally cancel it today and they tell me that there’s a 10 day cancellation notification and I’m gonna have to pay another month before it is canceled. They also increased my rates without asking me and said it was because my contract ended. Why would you not just put it on pause if my contract ends instead of increasing my rate from 10 dollars a month to 18. I explained that I tried to cancel the month before and the same person I talked too was there and she asked if I had any proof.

Gym has a ton of equipment. That’s about all the positive I have for it. It’s always extremely busy, minimal athletic area and what they do have is usually taken by classes that use the 1/4 of the gym for 8 people, you’ll have to wait 10-15 minutes for a single machine during peak time and deal with usually dirty bathrooms and locker rooms.
